What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will support the Manager of Data, Analytics, and BI Reporting and members of the ERP implementation team on large scale enterprise systems implementation. The project will also include enhancements to our overall data and reporting processes in service of improved analytics capabilities and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with various senior leaders, and stakeholders to plan and execute the migration and integration of existing enterprise data. Through this transition, you will be a key member in maintaining existing dashboards and developing new ones. Additionally, you will identify opportunities to improve processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in our data reporting and analytics functions.
What will you do?
Data Migration & Integration:
- Develop a solid understanding of data sources and architecture
- Assist in pre-implementation assessment activities to identify quality issues to be addressed prior to implementation.
- Connecting to multiple data sources to extract, transform, analyze, and prepare data sets for integration
Data Analytics:
- Assist in leveraging multiple data sources to transform, analyze, and derive holistic insights, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Gather business requirements by collaborating with stakeholders and support ad-hoc reporting to deliver timely and relevant information
- Help ensure the accuracy and reliability of key metrics, providing actionable analytical solutions to address business challenges
- Utilize data storytelling techniques to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders, enhancing understanding and driving informed decision-making
Dashboard Development and Maintenance:
- Contribute to the maintenance of existing reporting dashboards through regular updates and enhancements, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Reconcile data across multiple sources to verify consistency and reliability
- Build new dashboards and metrics to monitor key business outcomes effectively
Data Governance and Management:
- Assist in establishing and maintaining ETL processes to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency
- Support various initiatives such as data collection, migration to ensure data integrity and adherence to governance standards
- Collaborate with data owners to resolve data-related issues and enhance data management practices across the organization
- Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support team objectives and initiatives
Requirements
What do you need to succeed?
- BA/BSc program in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field is preferred
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; to not only analyse data but also think outside the box to deliver meaningful interpretations
- Tech curious and passionate about solving complex problems
- Experience working with large sets of data from multiple sources in an effective manner
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar visualisation tools required
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and relational database required
- Ability to analyse and interpret large amounts of financial, operational and other form of data, constructing compelling narratives and providing recommendations on complex business problems
- Excellent communication, relationship building, organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with data with significant ambiguity and develop creative approaches to managing, processing and identifying problems
Nice to have
- Experience with data preparation / automation tools such as Power Query, Power Automate an asset
- Experience with C#, SQL, Python and other common programming languages an asset
