Job Summary
The Owner Operator Driver plays a crucial role in the transportation and logistics industry, responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of freight. This position requires a self-motivated individual who owns their own truck and is committed to providing exceptional service while adhering to all safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and commercial driving, ensuring that all loads are transported securely and on time.
Duties
- Operate and maintain your own truck, ensuring it is in good working condition for safe transport.
- Transport freight to various destinations while following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Manage freight loading and unloading, utilizing heavy equipment operation skills as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Perform minor automotive repairs as needed to keep the vehicle operational.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (AZ/CVOR) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Experience operating heavy equipment and forklifts is preferred.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
