Omnitrans is currently searching for a Freight Pricing Coordinator to join our Pricing team in Montreal or Toronto.
This person will prepare pricing and provide daily spot rates, short-term and long-term rates on an as needed basis to support Clients, Sales, Operations, and Management in order to maximize our business development and growth opportunities within international freight on import and export products and leverage systems and processes to enable continuous monitoring and maintenance of costs and sell rates.
Responsibilities: Pricing and Quoting
- Establish and develop relationships with Agents, Carriers, Coloaders, and Truckers to keep pulse on the market and its impact on pricing
- Establish and maintain relationships with both internal and external customers
- Monitor and maintain competitive buying and selling rates through benchmarking
- Perform routine rate and contract maintenance aligned with pricing management guidelines
- Quickly and accurately prepare import and export spot quotations, short term and long-term proposals and rates on an as needed basis
- Other pricing related assignments such as liaising with billing to address disputes, clarifying margins, gathering market updates and intelligence, studying RFQs and summarizing data supported by required analysis and presenting to management
- Maintain the track record of negotiated rates according to pricing archiving mandate
- Other pricing related assignment by pricing management
Customer Service
- Provide positive internal and external client relationship experience
- Understand and assess client requirements in order to provide competitive and accurate solutions to drive profitability and business growth
- Collaborate with internal teams to align on pricing strategy and maximize business potential with clients
- Communicate market conditions to clients and internal teams to help them better understand the situation and impact on rates and capacity.
What you bring:
- Education: Bachelor or college diploma
- Up to three years of pricing experience is considered as an asset
- Three to five years of operational experience in logistics is an asset
- Ability to multitask, organize, work under deadlines
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is mandatory
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to identify root causes and find win/win solutions
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Team oriented and business driven
- Bilingual is an asset (French & English)
