Job Summary
The Market Development Specialist will be responsible for the exciting opportunity to map out the market growth of the Straub pipe coupling product line for Hamilton Kent, which is a well-known joining and repair solution used in a variety of sectors, such as industrial, municipal, oil and gas, mining, and many others.
Principal Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Track upcoming and ongoing projects at all stages to develop a project pipeline. Collaborate with members of the Straub sales team to ensure that target projects and contacts are actioned as per the project pipeline prioritization.
- Develop and execute a specification approval strategy that targets consulting engineers and municipalities with the aim of promoting Straub's products and services. You will also be responsible for tracking the success of your visits via CRM and making necessary adjustments to ensure continued success.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key consulting engineer and municipality decision-makers in the industry. This will involve industry association participation, sales aptitude, and staying up to date with industry trends.
- Provide technical support to clients and potential clients. You will be responsible for answering technical questions, providing product information, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities for Straub. You will be responsible for analyzing market trends, identifying potential growth areas, and developing strategies to capitalize on these opportunities.
- Attend industry events and conferences to promote Straub and network with potential clients. This will require excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a strong knowledge of Straub's products and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute sales strategies. You will work closely with the sales team to ensure that market efforts are aligned with sales goals and that the team has the necessary resources to succeed.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Certificates
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is required. A Certified Engineering Technician (CET) certificate or P.Eng are preferred.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, are essential for this role.
- Knowledge of the piping industry and consulting engineer and municipality specifications is preferred.
- Experience with technical product sales and marketing is a plus.
