About
Compassion Transportation and Residence Services provides transportation for seniors and persons with mobility issues as well as long-term residential housing with 24/7 in-house supportive care to young adults and children with disabilities residing in the Greater Toronto and Peel Area.
Overview
The Frontline worker will provide individual care and guidance consistent with the needs of individuals with mental health issues, developmental disabilities and behavioural challenges. They are primarily responsible for helping clients meet their full potential in all areas of daily living by providing a safe and structured home environment that promotes self confidence, belonging, independence and sense of well being.
We are currently looking for passionate individuals to make a difference in the lives of young adults and children with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the residents with daily needs.
- Provide a safe, structured, educational and developmentally appropriate home environment that promotes a sense of well-being, self-confidence, belonging and independence for the individual
- Complete wellness-checks, monitor bathroom cleanliness, and conduct site walk around
- Record client notes and intake forms
- Administers medication to individuals in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Clearly communicate with clients and other team members.
- Use emergency building systems and follow fire procedures.
- Meet monthly with the manager for supervision.
- Lead crisis intervention and conflict resolution during shift
- Work in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Participate in on-going evaluation, development and review of residential programs and Policy and Procedures.
Qualifications
- Certificate and/or degree in the Social Services or related field
- 2 years’ experience in a residential setting.
- Direct experience working from a client centered approach
- Ability to work productively within a team setting and also independently.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Applied computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention.
- Trauma-Informed Practice
- Valid Driver’s Licence is an asset
Hours:
Mornings (07:00 – 15:00)
Evenings (15:00 – 23:00)
Overnights (23:00 – 07:00)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
