Medical Office Administrator – Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic

The Medical Office Administrator (MOA) will provide administrative support in this obstetrics & gynecology clinic to ensure the smooth, efficient, high quality and compassionate provisional of clinical care. The MOA provides a full range of clerical and administrative support functions to the clinic.
**The office runs on QHR ACCURO EMR. Applicants with relevant Medical Office Administrative work experience, and QHR ACCURO proficiency with practical experience will be considered first.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and visitors both at the clinic and/or over the telephone/via email
- Answers inquiries by phone and in person in a professional manner, which is helpful, respectful, and efficient
- Handles clinic emails and voicemail messages
- Ensures and maintains confidentiality and professional boundaries with patients
- Coordinates patient care through the clinic – preparing exam room, checking in patients, handing out requisition forms, scheduling future appointments etc.
- Processes external referrals and notifies patients/referring physicians accordingly
- Operates and ensures maintenance of the patient appointment system
- Maintains the Electronic Medical Record, and updates Physician’s Schedules
- Accurate handling and preparation of OHIP billing procedures using Accuro
- Files/scans all faxes and paper copies of lab reports and clinical information such as Patient Information Forms and other correspondence in the charts
- Performs clerical duties (e.g. photocopies, faxes, messages, emails, picks up/delivers mail)
- Carries out routine opening and closing tasks for the Clinic
- Ensures exam rooms are stocked appropriately
- Maintains files, petty cash, inventory, and ordering of office supplies
- Assists in the care and maintenance of office equipment
- Collects fees for items/uninsured services provided by the clinic to clients as required
- Any other related duties in the interest of efficient operations of the clinic as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Strong preference for Applicants with a Diploma/Certificate in Medical Office Administration
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Office experience and working knowledge of basic Medical Terminology required
- Must be proficient working with computers and QHR Accuro EMR
- Effective organization, time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent command of the English language, with strong verbal and written communication skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively independently
Salary:
**To be determined based on experience and skill level**
