As Western Canada's leading venue for live events, we host a year-round schedule of sporting events, concerts, consumer shows and more each year while also supporting the community through an array of ongoing partnerships and initiatives.
We are currently looking to add Event Environmental Services, Housekeeping Ambassadors to the BC Place team. Event Environmental Services, Housekeeping Ambassadors play a key role in delivering on our mission “providing world renowned service in a safe, inviting dynamic environment that attracts world class exhibitions, sport and entertainment events.”
The hourly rate for this position is $20.04.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Clean the building including floor, seating, stairs, washrooms, public areas, entrances and gates, suites, lounges, media areas, etc.;
- Provide service excellence to clients, guests and BC Place team members;
- Collect, sort and remove waste and recycling;
- Be approachable by maintaining uniform standards and positive body language and energy;
- Be knowledgeable about BC Place, safety policies, guest services and event details;
- Be active and support service recovery issues and ensure health and safety policies and practices are always maintained and followed;
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Knowledge of cleaning or willingness to learn, experience in a similar role in the event or service industry and or working with the public an asset;
- Demonstrated commitment to providing service excellence and ability to maintain a friendly demeanor;
- Ability to multi task and to problem solve
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and the ability to co-operate with others
- Ability to deal with large crowds;
- Mentally and physically able to deal with assigned tasks including exposure to seasonal heat and cold in an outdoor and indoor environment, extended periods of standing and bending, at times extensive walking from one location to another on concrete surfaces, lifting over 35 pounds;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English (an additional language is an asset);
- Computer literate with the ability to utilize BC Place employee service portal via internet or on-site kiosks;
- Ability to work days, evenings, overnights, weekends and statutory holidays as required;
- Must be able to work 80% of our anchor events (approx. 25 events per year).

2. Attend our hiring event on January 16, 20, 21 or 22, 2025 if you are shortlisted. If you pass the online interview questionnaire, we will invite you to our hiring event. During the event, you will complete a group exercise with other applicants and participate in a one-on-one interview.

4. Join our amazing team! Orientation Training will be February 15 and 16, 2025.
