Legal Assistant

Law Ville Professional Corporation is growing, We are seeking a Legal Assistant for one full-time position. We specialize in immigration and refugee law. Therefore, we are seeking a passionate, energetic, dedicated, team-oriented person especially to serve our rising number of African clients.

Job Discriptions:

Candidate will communicate and conduct client intake with clients especially from African country particularly from Ghana. Candidate will come with excellent language communication skills, work ethics & dedication.
The candidate would provide administrative support and assistance to the lawyer.
Prepare correspondence such as letters; completing application through online portal or paper applications.
Schedule daily appointments, meetings and conferences for lawyer
Organize and maintain filing systems, online and manually by utilizing knowledge of legal records and procedures and frequently controlling confidential materials and documents
Open and distribute regular mails, couriers, emails and incoming faxes and coordinate the flow of information internally and with other third parties.
May train other new staff to assist clients especially from African community.
May perform other general office work as required including simple book-keeping for office files.

Qualifications

Candidate must have completion of secondary school with one- or two-year college diploma or other post secondary education in legal field.
Legal assistant experience is an asset
Passionate to work in legal field and willing to thrive
MS Word/ Office/ Electronic mail/ MS Excel/ MS Outlook/ MS Windows/ Adobe Acrobat Reader and etc.

Language(es) Requirements:

Candidate must be proficient in English and other languages from Africa such as Twi, Fanti, Ga and/ or Akuapim and Sefwi.

Job Type and Wage:

Full Time, $26.00 hourly/ 40 hours per week

Work Location, time and condition:

In person/ Monday to Friday (10:00 am – 6:00 pm)
Fast-paced environment, work under pressure and attention to detail

Transportation/ travel information : Public transportation is available.
