Entrepreneurship Coordinator

The Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (COIE), Centennial Innovates, Centennial College is hiring a full-time contract Entrepreneurship Coordinator with an entrepreneurial mindset and experience with VR technologies to bring contemporary learning techniques and support extracurricular programming. Reporting to the Manager of entrepreneurship, the Entrepreneurship Coordinator is responsible for independently organizing and delivering information sessions and coordinating workshops/programs overseeing a large number of attendees, developing outreach activities and supporting student clubs and groups within the college, and in the community. The Coordinator provides support for sustainability programs, as well as supports the organization of VR initiatives. The Coordinator also assists in the organization of work-integrated learning activities, supports proposal development activities, as well as contributes to the organization of other entrepreneurship programs and events.

The Coordinator is also responsible for developing and maintaining effective communications, reporting and assisting coordination of facilities. The Entrepreneurship Coordinator is accountable for maintaining a respectful work environment and engaging a diverse stakeholder base, as well as staying current and competent in the entrepreneurship domain through self-directed learning and developing professional relations in the ecosystem.

Main Responsibilities:

Organizing and delivering information sessions answering questions and coordinating entrepreneurship sessions, workshops, speaker sessions and other programs/events.
Providing VR expertise supporting the development and delivery of VR initiatives.
Promoting entrepreneurial programs and activities, interacting with students, staff and community and developing outreach in the College and the broader community to motivate participation.
Organizing several other student activities, supporting student clubs and assisting in the organization of work-integrated learning, Creation of job posting according with the specific skills sets requirements of the projects.
Supporting the organization of sustainability/SDG/climate related programs and activities.
Monitoring recording and reporting feedback and statistics related to sessions and workshops organized/coordinated, and outreach activities.
Assisting in coordinating facility operations with College maintenance, custodial, and public safety staff.
Assisting with the technical aspects of proposal writing as needed.
Assisting with the organization of all other programs and activities as required from time to time.

Qualifications/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Entrepreneurship or Management, or
Post-graduate diploma/degree in Business, Entrepreneurship or Management, combined with Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.

Minimum 3-year work experience in combination of following:

Experience with entrepreneurship programs and/or experience with startups/incubators.
Coordination, Administration, Client Service and/or Advising, Presentation/Facilitation/Coaching in a business/startup/incubator/entrepreneurship department.
Experience with core frameworks in entrepreneurial/business development, such as lean methodology, human-centred design, sprint planning, business model development, and/or Sustainable Development Goals programming.
Experience in educational/entrepreneurship training using VR (Virtual Reality).
Experience in sustainability/SDG/climate related educational/advisory programs.

Preference will be given to those with

Experience with VR educational software, Oculus headsets, Microsoft Office products and collaboration tools.
Program development/coordination experience in sustainability/SDG/climate change.
Experience in promotion/marketing/outreach.
Experience working independently to achieve targets and team goals with minimal supervision.
Experience using design, online communication and collaboration tools.

Skills/Abilities:

Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills.
Well-developed planning skills, business acumen, project-management and time-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure, manage simultaneous time-sensitive projects to ensure meeting outcomes on time with quality output.
Ability to work effectively with cultural diversity including cross-cultural communications.
